The problem with most USMLE Step 1 preparations

The main problem with most students preparing for Step 1 is that they either jump right into question banks or simply go through all the theory expecting to be able to answer question banks with ease. Let me tell you something: You are in for a big surprise!

You will quickly come realise that theoretical knowledge does not directly equate to high question bank and NBME scores. Students need to learn and develop their approaches to questions just as much as the theory they go through. This course teaches you exactly  how to learn and implement such an approach. Founder of USMLE Step 101 and course creator

Hello everyone, Charlie here. I am an international medical student at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and the course creator of How to answer USMLE Step 1 questions. I successfully completed my Step 1 exam as an International Medical Graduate (IMG) in Johannesburg back in 2018. I've wanted to share my structured checklist-type question approach to help other students improve their Step 1 scores ever since. I hope you join us in this course and look forward to working with you.

FAQ

  • Why should I buy the course now instead of closer to launch day?

The presale offer of 200$ is the lowest price this course will ever sell for. The course price is subject to increase in price the closer it comes to launch day. You will also have immediate access to all downloadable resources (PDF summary of the key learning objectives of 2000+ questions, the Step 1 question approach checklist and standard lab reference value forms). Lastly, you will be added to the Slack chat room and benefit from direct contact with the course creator for any questions you might have on an almost 1 on 1 basis.

  • How long will I have access to the course?

You will have 24/7 access to the online course for a full year from the day you sign up (or 365 days from launch day if you sign up for the pre-sale).

  • How do I access the live webinars?

The live webinars will be available within the online course. You can either watch them directly from this page or watch them on youtube to access the live chat feature. All previous webinars will also be available within the course to rewatch at any time. The first live webinar is planned for 15 December 2019.

  • How do I access the chatroom?

We use Slack as our chatroom platform. Just create a web account or download the free iOS or Android app. The private chatroom link is posted and available within the course intro once you've signed up. You will have immediate access to the chatroom after enrollment (even before the course launch date) in order to ask any questions, discuss or contact the course creator.
